Increase image size in KB is the opposite of compress: a portal says the file is too small. That happens on some KYC and exam sites that confuse “not empty” with “at least N kilobytes.”
IMG4FIX does not hallucinate megapixels to fatten the file. Padding a JPEG comment grows bytes while the picture stays the same. If the form actually wanted a larger print, use Increase Image Size or a centimeter landing instead.

Minimum KB vs more pixels
More pixels (upscale) change how large the image draws and usually increase KB as a side effect. Padding only changes KB. Read the form: “minimum 50 KB” is padding; “minimum 600×600” is resize.
