JPEG to PDF (Under 200KB) means the download must stay at or under 200 KB. Searchers are usually staring at an error like “file too large,” not trying to become compression experts.
This page builds a one-page PDF and shrinks the JPEG inside until the whole file is under 200 KB. Extra PDF headers use a little room, so the photo is aimed slightly below the cap.
Files stay in this browser tab. A 24 MP phone dump cannot become 5 KB without looking harsh — crop or resize the subject first when the cap is that small.
What jpeg to pdf (under 200kb) actually changes
It changes file size, not print centimeters. Pixels may drop if quality alone cannot hit the cap. That is different from “resize to 600×600,” which is a pixel box regardless of kilobytes.
200–500 KB is typical for product catalogs and many job portals. You can keep more texture than a 20 KB file.
How to hit 200 KB on this tool
Upload the original, not a screenshot of the original. Run the tool. Check the new size on the success row. If a portal still rejects the file, they may count 1000 bytes as 1 KB; shave a little more or ask them which definition they use.
Each image becomes its own PDF in a batch (ZIP). Multi-page merge is not in this engine.
When shrinking pixels beats lowering quality
A 6000-pixel wedding photo will still be huge at quality 40. Bring the long edge to something the form will actually display (often 800–1600 px), then encode. Doing it in one step here is the same idea: the auto pipeline scales when it must.
Frequently asked questions
Is 200 KB a maximum or an exact size?
A maximum. The encoder stops at or under the cap. Padding a file up to an exact byte count is a different tool (increase size in KB).
Will faces still be recognizable?
At 200 KB, maybe not if the original is a full-resolution camera file. Crop to the head and shoulders first for ID-style photos.
Does this upload the photo?
No. Encoding is local.
Is the PDF searchable text?
No. It is a photo wrapped as a page, not an OCR document.
Why did my file stay larger than 200 KB?
Extremely simple graphics sometimes bottom out above a tiny cap, or the device ran out of downscale steps. Try a smaller crop.
